Europe will get this money back from the USA : buy European!
Supporting Ukraine is not just a money thing, it is a moral obligation. The USA has morally made the wrong decision in giving up on Ukraine, as the many US American volunteers inside of Ukraine will tell you. Instead, the USA has, through Trump, decided to side with Putin (perhaps even a video recording of Trump having sex in a Moscow hotel plays a role in this) this is despicable; Putin is an evil dictator. Taken together, US Americans, this is hard to forgive, you are now on the wrong side of history. In addition, this war impacts the USA directly, you can try to be protectionist and isolationist as much as you want, as two world wars have shown, not confronting dictators never works.
Gotta get more of those European weapons into Ukrainian hands.
I see this and my first thought is that Europe could have been doing more the entire time, which would have been in its best interest to do.
That’s not at all to say the US shouldn’t contribute to help their (previous?) allies, but at least the blundering haphazard mad house that is the current White House has accidentally prodded Europe to help itself more.

I think there is multiple factors here.
First, Europe wasn’t a major weapon producer, and ramping up production takes time. You have to recruit people, teach them, and buy heavy machinery, which also take time to produce.
Secondly, Europe isn’t as unified s the US. It formed around the idea of preventing future wars, and on that aspect it worked spectacularly. There was no war between EU countries since WW2. But cultural differences are still there, and its institutions require a consensus, not a majority. So it is hard to take immediate decision. Ironically, USA withdrawal is what made the consensus easier to reach, because major countries that were reticent became aware that they had to act now or fold to Putin.
Question: how is the USA relevant to the situation and why there’s so much dancing around Trump’s ass?
First of all, it is not that relevant anymore, but Trump makes for great news stories, which create a lot of clicks. We are probably at the point, that the US needs to invade Ukraine to end that war for Russia.
Other then that the US still sanctions Russia, which is helpful. They also sell weapons to Europe and especially Ukraine, which are hard to replace(Patriot missiles for example). Also it is really useful to have the US at least pretend to want to defend Europe. Then you have the massive economic war going on and that actually hurts Europe.
So Europe seems to kiss Trumps ass, while working pretty hard on alternatives. Part of that is financing Ukrainian drones to blow up tankers and other export facilities to replace sanctions. European weapons industry needs more capacity and some capabilities to US weapons, which is being worked on right now(for Patriot that is more Aster missiles for SMAP/T and Iris-t SLX for example). As for the tariff war, we currently see the massive trade deals with Mercosur and India to replace the US somewhat.
Intelligence and communications
Last I heard 70% of the intelligence was also coming from Europe. Which has been a very fast changeover from last year where it was almost all American.
Not a lot of intelligence in the US government these days.
France has a lot of spy satellites. Part of why they didn’t follow the US in Irak.
Yep those are the ones.
