AI can’t be all that bad. The problem I’m always seeing with AI is a double-edged sword. You have corporations shoving AI in just about everything, treating it like its a cure for cancer and that really rubs people the wrong way. Then, on a more of a society level, you’ve got people who use AI for an assortment of things like making art with AI and still accredit themselves as an artist to people who treat AI like a therapist when it is not advised to.
However, I’ve found some benefits with AI. For example, I’m chatting with ChatGPT on credit cards, because it is something I may lean towards getting into. It’s helping me better understand than most people have tried explaining to me. Simply because it is giving me a more stream-lined response than people just beating the bush.

it is THE best brainstorming tool there is for writing with.
it helps one discover all the weaknesses in what one has written, though not necessarily for the reasons that’d be best ( I downloaded a local LLM, tried it, & discovered that it WOULD NOT ADMIT that Netanyahu’s “Israel” is genociding Palestinians… until finally I found a quote of an Isreali military official admitting, to Israeli journalists, that yes, the Palestinian numbers were accurate, so it was 70k, not 7k, dead, of them, as they’d been insisting all along…

I don’t need ideological-torque that facts can’t even budge, in my own computer.
Fuck that shit.
it is brilliant for doing web-search, for finding stuff that normal web-search is too dumbed-down to find. Trying to find a specific video, or channel, on yt, & their “search” function won’t let you find it? Ask an AI. Trying to find some organization you remember reading-about years ago? Try an AI. Etc.
I’m hoping that somebody does a specific-LLM for each subdiagnosis, & correctly chains the things together, so it isn’t only statistically-reasonable, but accurate diagnoses, & renders doctors irrelevant for diagnosis: total democratizing of medical-diagnosis would be THE medical-revolution that our world needs.
I wish that bad-teaching were replaced with good personal-agents or personal/offline chat, so that ALL learners could have best-of-breed mentoring in all the subjects they want ( within limits: our world doesn’t need more evil-makers, obviously ), & learning could be broken from the “education” cartels which currently “own” it.
