Aren’t all fruits technically limited-edition by their very nature?

Everything is a limited edition. Some things are just more limited than others.

    This is normal in Japan.

Perfect-looking fruits and vegetables (and giant tunafish) regularly get sold at premiums in grocery stores or are auctioned off. Sometimes it makes the news.

But does it taste any different? The article makes no claims other than looks.

Usually when I see stuff like this on YouTube the people trying it say something along the lines of “it’s good, and it was nice to try it, but it’s not worth the price.”

Or it tastes really good and has a good texture which is why this luxury person decided to put money into creating and cultivating and then sell it at exorbitant prices. But, nah, let’s just assume the worst. Rich people, amirite?

Do they also offer pineapple rental? Not everyone can afford to own one.

It wouldn’t be the first time

I’m a little bit late to the pineapple party but I wanted to say that I recently saw a 6 oz container of non organic blueberries for over $9 and I thought THAT was outrageous.
