- those contracts take years to tender and likely have huge clawback clauses. I doubt that Labour got into power and immediately signed contracts for things like this. More likely it was more expensive to stop it. - Bingo. I also suspect they’re gambling on it being a failure. Hard ball behaviour if true but a failure of such a privatisation would be very high profile and likely put a stop to anything similar for a long time. - Also note that failures to meet agreed standards will have penalties so it might be possible for labour to force them out that way.

- I hate Labour. I don’t think anyone that voted for Labour voted for this. - This is the miserable reality of the “lesser of two evils” of FPTP voting systems. This is supposed to be the “good” choice.
