Place uncooked chana dal into a bowl with 4 cups of water and allow to soak for 30 minutes. Rinse well, drain and set aside. What difference does it make how much water I put in if I’m gonna rinse and drain anyway. I was a rebel and I put more in and smiled. It would make more sense if they said “atleast 4 cups”.
