I decided to do a “fuck it I’m going to get whatever I want” supermarket run.

Now, this is probably a weeks worth of food with a few treats, nothing extravagant. ( a whole block of cheese instead 500gm, some bacon, some apples and nectarines).

And all the cat stuff for about half a week.

Two hundred and ten fucking dollars! I’m one person!!! I don’t even eat that much!!!

Plus a bakers dozen or so of cats. The strays stuff cost around 35 a week so it’s not a huge deal at the moment.

Man. Never going to woollies or Coles again. Fucking aldi convert right here.

Yikes! Just did $120 for two. Doesn’t include cat fud though, that’s prescription stuff.

I eat the same thing most days as well (because I only cook properly if there’s someone else around)

Oats Fruit Tuna Frozen veggies Some variety of meat

        That’s pretty much it.

Yeah, I don’t cook about half the week because Boyo is on 2nd shift. Stuff that ups the spendiness is razors, his fancy conditioner, or letting me loose in the deli 😺

The generic wet food from Woolies and Coles is pretty solid and nutritionally complete at less than $2 a can. (Used to be 80c.) The Woolies passes AAFCO regulations.

However YMMV - the fish flavour is full of bones which means a high phosphorus content which is hard on cats kidneys. Melbcat’s kidney disease values improved after I switched her off it to a low phosphorus food
