A bit doubtful about cleaning with soap and water but the brushes and paints were cheap if they get ruined and hopefully if I wipe brushes well I can do the kitty litter dump of a reasonably limited amount of wash water. (Though I’m not sure about cleaning with water between colours.)
Found a small set of water mixable oil paints off an art supply site for a lot cheaper and am debating it despite hearing it’s not a great alternative.
Now all I have to confront is myself 😔 Which to be honest is the whole battle.

I wash my brushes between uses but I use the same brush for the same colour or colour group as it it’s nigh on impossible to get perfectly clean.
And have labelled my brushes with some sticky tape so I know which is which.
I wonder if with careful order and wiping I could get away with only two
