I have a bath every night, no matter the weather. 30 mins reading my current book before washing and shaving. I have a bath thermometer and keep the temperature at 43.5 degrees c. Usually some muscle relaxing herbal bath salts. It’s the best part of the day. Pure bliss.
Do you have a sit down bath or a lay down bath?
I love taking a nice long soak with some Epsom salt. Melts all the stress away.
I can relate, I’m a shower person and I just love watching an anime episode while showering.
I take 1 bath every two weeks or so. I do scalding hot water and turn the heat on in the bathroom. Basically, I want it sauna-like. I then stay in the bath for 2 hours so… It’s amazing.
When I ws a teenager, i told my first partner I liked taking a bath, they warned me about cooking my sperm, or similar, so ya know
I no longer have a bathtub, enjoy
And hopefully afterwards you learnt that you keep producing sperm, right? So even if you had a bath that was hot enough to kill off your current batch, you’d have them replenished shortly after.
That seems disgustingly hot. I don’t even keep my hottub at 40, and it’s outside.
I have a hot tub, and if it’s any lower than 40 (a paltry max) I’m getting out. I add a few large pans of boiled water to my 40 degree tub.
wastes too much water for me.
And the water keeps going cold so you have to use even more hot water. The only bath I’d ever use is the one at the wellness place in town. The freezing cold one. Though if it gets too hot I think I’ll just chill water in the fridge and tip it over my head. I haven’t tried that yet but it’ll be a lot cooler than the water in the pipes on a hot day!
I love baths, but didn’t have one for years. I just don’t fit into regular sized tubs :(
Me neither, I’m too tall and my knees end up sticking out.
I ended up buying a portable semi-inflatable tub that I can sit down in during the lockdown, and using it right next to the shower.
Yeah, same here. :( Which extra sucks because I’m disabled and have chronic pain, and a nice bath helped with some of it. But I’m just too long! & 'cause of the aforementioned disabilities, I can’t afford a place with a suitable tub. Buuut it’s better than being homeless, so I can’t complain too much, haha!
I feel for you, and I hope you’re able to work out a proper tub situation that works for you soon! :)
That sucks, sorry to hear that.
Yeah, it is question of finances mostly. Couldn’t really justify remaking a perfectly functional bathroom just to fit in a bigger tub
It appears we have found President Taft’s Lemmy account .
I dislike baths because I want to get clean as quickly as possible and get out. I’d much rather relax after I’m already clean and dry.
It’s a different sensation. I am a shower person. Have been for years but when it’s cold or you have extra aches it’s nice.
It’s not about being fast or getting clean it’s about stopping and letting your body marinate in bubbles and heat.
Each to their own!
Yeah I love a bath. Especially when I feel I’ve really earned it, like exhausted after a day hillwalking, or manual labour outside in the rain or cold.
I try to do twice a week but I literally spend hours. I don’t try and keep the temp at anything in particular but I don’t know what it is about my bathroom but I don’t feel the temperature falls all that much. I do start out about as hot as I ca stand. Like I tip my to go oh. ah ha ah. and slowly get one foot in. then the other. then slowing lower down into it.
What’s your fav salt or soak? Would love some recommendations
I buy random ones at farm shops and garden centers, and my fave was one called Fuzzy Duck (Bergamot, hemp, and sandalwood), but you can’t go wrong with Radox Herbal Bath.
I do like those three ingredients. I love the right combination of the smell, not too many bubbles, and how it helps your muscles relax. But I’m trying to use more natural products, underconsume etc. Have you tried the green one made from chestnut’s…I think. It really nice.
I quite like some relaxing tunes or when it’s windy outside having the window open and hearing the noise. I find that very chilling.
In an hotel, I could book a Jacuzzi for two hours for 10 euros. The default temperature was 38 degrees Celsius. It was a great experience!
There was even a sauna with a temperature of 95 degress! Highly recommended.
If you book a jacuzzi is no one else allowed in at that time? My public pool has a chlorinated hot tub anyone can use.
Yeah me too. I have to bath, preferably twice a day
I’m enjoying one now with lavender epsom salts. Cures what ails ya.
