    No need to pressure yourself into fostering if you’re not ready. If the rescue organisation gets involved, they will find the right person. You will be the right person one day too, to a different cat. After my dog died, I wasn’t ready for another companion for a year. Everyone is different in how much time they need. It’s all normal and you are not alone. Be kind to yourself. You loved Melbcat so very much, of course the loss hurts. Let the grief process happen, it’s okay. And if things do spiral, please reach out to get support. Here, or medical, or irl contacts, whatever you need. Melbcat would want you to.

      You’re right. He loves me and follows me around like a dog, but is also a highly energetic young chap while my circumstances require my pets to be exclusively inside. I also feel he needs more hands on deck for his care. My property may also at some point undergo works.

      I’ll just have to see what happens and choose what’s best for him.
