Folks remember this is Russian military doctrine. This is exactly what they did in WWII.
It saddly works
Unlimited manpower was already a myth in ww2

Nothing new in the east.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Ukrainian internal affairs adviser Anton Gerashchenko posted the clip on X (formerly Twitter) of the unnamed Russian serviceman describing how he had been “sent to slaughter” in the war.
The video, which as of Saturday, had received more than 225,000 views, is the latest account from a member of Vladimir Putin’s personnel who have complained about poor training, leadership and morale.
It comes as Russia suffers huge losses in the offensive it launched in October towards Avdiivka, in the Donetsk oblast, which has seen a spike in troop deaths, according to Ukrainian and Western estimates.
The YouTube channel says that it is showing “the real situation in Ukrainian captivity and calls on the families and friends of the Russian military to surrender.”
The clip of the soldier, whose named is bleeped out and whose location is not given, shows him describing how he and his comrades were given automatic rifles and driven to a firing range.
Putin issued a decree on Thursday for foreign nationals who fight for Russia in Ukraine to get Russian citizenship for themselves and their families.

Are we also listening to the videos posted by Russian soldiers on X of Ukrainian soldiers saying they’re completely outmatched on every front? No?
Well then why do we care what a Ukrainian government official posts? Both sides are dumping propaganda into the void and we’re just eating up whichever side we like more.
Every piece of information, even propaganda, is a valuable data point.
Not if the mods take down propaganda from the other side, leaving the community entirely propagandized by one perspective.
Like what happens on worldnews.ml
They leave up VOA articles, and VOA is literally US propaganda. They also leave up Kyiv Post, CNN, and Ukrainian Pravda, as well as Times of Israel and Haaretz.
They’re much more aggressive moderating against ad hominem attacks, though.
It’s next to impossible to have rational discussions about this war.
Most people on these forums are consumed by propaganda and don’t even realize it.
There’s two rational positions on this: allow all propaganda, or block all propaganda. Selectively allowing propaganda is just exposing the mods’ political opinions and pushing it on everyone else.
Fact is, nobody really knows what’s going on. Fog of war is in play and everyone has an incentive to lie.
Why are we fighting again?
Edit: humanity
Oh, that’s easy, for Russia it’s crucial for reasons… it was something about de-nazification, or was it to stop NATO expanding? No, no, it’s to defend against the aggression of The West!
That’s why Russia has to occupy Ukraine!
For Ukraine, they mostly seem to have a bee up their butt about Russian troops occupying, torturing, kidnapping, displacing and murdering Ukrainians on Ukrainian soil.
Because Vladimir Putin can’t accept the fact that the Soviet Union is dead and gone?
Well, the cancer may have reached his brain.

Shit. I guess I’m “Team Cancer” now.
It’s amazing how long they can keep rich assholes alive.
Soviet Union was big, included many states. Socialist economy imploded, Soviet Union became Soviet non-union. States declared sovereignty as independent countries (mass brexits, kinda?).
Russia, who used to be able to socialize assets from all the smaller countries, wants to be able to socialize the assets again, and as a bonus, is salty because some of those countries are hooking up with NATO, which is by and large a union of capitalism…
Instead of trying to create a union again, and getting others to join via diplomacy or negotiation, Russia is just trying to press its neighbors into joining the reformed union via military occupation, and hit a slight snag with Ukraine, because all this shit is a little too recent for Ukraine to have forgotten how shitty a lada is.
Also like to add that Ukraine was on a good trajectory and had zero reason to give up its independence. Strong tech industry, agriculture, etc.
The only way Russia was going to get it back was violently.
And that in itself was another reason to invade. A free and prosperous western-facing Ukraine might cause the Russian masses to begin wondering why they can’t have that too. Putin cannot abide that.
Thank you for making a serious and accurate reply to a pretty silly post. For real. Others may see it that actually do not understand what it’s all about.
Hey, I threw a few humorous bits in there… ;)
Hey hey hey, I hate imperialism and Putin as much as the next guy but the Lada Niva was actually kind of neat.
Are you in Russia or Ukraine? Or maybe you’re in a different conflict. But I don’t know why you’re fighting.
I mean humanity I suppose.
