    I could really rant for hours and hours, probably even write an essay about how strongly I disagree with both the legislation, and how the legislation was enacted, but I doubt I’ll bring anything new to the conversation though, and the moment for debate has kinda passed now anyway

    But what I will say, is that somebody I know (older man, late 50s) was telling me about how much he agrees with it, before going on a little mini boomer rant about how the world nowadays (especially young people, he wanted to point out) is so addicted to phones, and how much better it was in the olden days. An hour earlier, he nearly drifted off the road texting and driving. That’s basically what I think of when I think of this law; hypocrisy from scared old people that are out of touch with the world

      Hard agree.

      I’d also note that the excuse for the gambling reform delays “Oh we need to get this legislation and reform right and that will take time” does not at all match the embarrassing rush to get the Social Media ban passed.

      Guess Meta should have spent more money advertising on Free to Air huh?
