Some random person just walked around the back of my unit and stole all of my neighbour’s nonslip mats. All that rustling and bumping was them pulling one out from under my fence where it had slid.

    Bunch of weirdos 🫩

I’m playing Bride and Prejudice and trying to teach Bill Cat to dance.

He is having none of it.

How can he be a decent cat and marry Pyaari if he doesn’t know how to dance.

Decided it was time to take some "in progress" photos of my yard.

There’s still a bit more mulch to put down to widen the area along the back and many plants to go in, but I think it looks much better just having a laid out garden bed instead of just bad quality grass right to the edges. It will be great when I finally have some proper plant growth too.

I’m not allowed trees unfortunately, the landlord put a 2m height limit. Which is a pity, I would have loved to do a dwarf gum tree. Fortunately there are quite a few good habitat trees in the estate and they are doing native planting in parks around those so there is a decent amount of canopy trees around, along with nature strip trees. I’ve got a couple of dwarf citrus which will fit within the height limit (depending on which references you look at!)

I’m doing natives all down one side, including a wattle, callistemon and (if I can get it to grow) a banksia. Then a mix of smaller shrubs and groundcovers. Lots of things to provide food and habitat for birds and also for bees.

Bottlebrush makes a nice big bush after a few years, brings birds. I’ve got a tea tree from a friends citizenship ceremony that’s about 2m as well. I can track down the specific if you want.

I think I’ve got as many plants as the garden can handle already! I did order a smaller tea tree that has beautiful red flowers.

Ugh. This Minecraft passkey business is related to Windows Hello which is some biometric authentication bullshit on Windows 10 and 11.

    spoiler

You can just set up a PIN but I don’t want to. It feels so fishy because of the other options. Like… How the hell is Microsoft going to ask me to scan my fingerprint to play Minecraft alone on my own machine? (Thankfully there is no compatibility with the hardware to scan my face or fingerprint.)

And what else could Microsoft decide to take hostage until I give them personal info? My Outlook account that I need for everything? I hate this timeline. Suck my nuts.

Gonna try and remove Hello sign in options. And if that doesn’t work, I’ve lost my worlds.

I wish I could get organised and set up Linux and Proton mail. I’m just struggling to manage the bare minimum right now and fear getting cut off from everything if there are payment issues or some mistake

Edit: I got it to work with just a password. I still hate that I require an account and it’s linked to my Microsoft account and Xbox and Twitch are somehow involved. Someone please make something similar that hasn’t been enshittified into suck

I’m just paralysed right now. And then there’s the job of changing everything important over to the new email and not accidentally locking yourself out of stuff.

The organisation and ‘doing stuff’ part of my brain isn’t working right now

I don’t quite know what’s wrong with me, but I’ve been vague and had no real energy for like, a week and a half

Same - I put it down to the amount of travelling I’ve been doing and the vague upset tummy I had a couple weeks ago. Loaded up today on vitamin D, iron - the two things I get low on first - and ginko which seems to help with post viral shenanigans 💪 . But I suspect its just spring blues. I need Christmas holidays

I’m trying to bump up the B12 and start to actually take my vitamin D (on top of multi gummies). I really hope it helps

lots of vague viruses around at the moment

I had that sore throat dizzy one 2 weeks ago, got palpitations too, and it’s hard to shake, might be some post viral syndrome

My herb plants arrived, and they look very healthy. I’m not sure how much planting I’ll get done tomorrow though, it looks like it’s going to be very windy. But the plants are all set up in a tray with water in the greenhouse, so it shouldn’t be too urgent. I still have a dozen of the native tubestock to plant, with another 26 plants expected to arrive next week, so I’ll definitely be busy. Plus I need to get some vegetable seeds planted!

For some strange reason I always wake up 7:37am every morning. Doesn’t matter what time I go to bed, that must be my lucky number.

One of my interviews tomorrow is in the building where my mother used to work 20 odd years ago.

What a fucking coincidence. Lots of memories attached to that place.

Today I am listening to the CD soundtracks to Slumdog Millionaire and Bride and Prejudice

and counting down to when tickets for Frankenstein go on sale

but first I have been listening to Shostakovich 9 1947 Kurtz performance, it is strangely contemporary and old at the same time

now time for bollywood Bride and Prejudice, it has a beat and you can dance to it 💃🕺

I just folded and put away a doona cover that was inside out. I didn’t even find its matching pillowcase. That’s how crazy I feel today.
