So, I quit my call centre job. Had to go back to my psych after a mental health crisis and she advised that call centres are prolly tied to some trauma (most of my exp was while I was with my ex).
So I quit. My mental health is more important, even if it might take me longer to get where I want to go.
I’m kind of okay with this. It takes a special kind of person to sit tied to a phone and PC for 8-12 hours a day, and it’s okay that I can’t do that anymore.
You had to make the right move for yourself. I see the people who do customer service here and I couldn’t do it. The day is too structured and rigid for me, and people don’t realise how exhausting being on the phone can be. You’ve done an amazing job sticking it out for as long as you have

Good on you for recognising that it wasn’t benefitting you.
🤗 You gave it fair shake of the sav, no-one can ask for more. Agree about the mental health bit.
