This is more than a job — it’s a cultural exchange powered by an incredibly versatile flavor

Good luck with that, don’t die.

Which country will one of these people end up getting murdered? My money’s on France. Someone is going to douse their steak au poivre in bacon flavored ranch, and the reaction won’t be pretty.

In Europe they don’t know what ranch is so Cool Ranch Doritos are called Cool American Doritos…

It tastes literally nothing like ranch. Even the American version actually called cool ranch. Tastes literally nothing like ranch.

Ranch is just a buttermilk dressing. It’s fine, it’s hard to find people that genuinely don’t like buttermilk dressing.

You may not like hidden valleys version since they add a bit more to it. But normal ass ranch is like absurdly inoffensive as a taste.

And with what Americans have been up to recently, they’re going to have to rename it again.

It’s just buttermilk… Buttermilk is absurdly popular in the EU it literally out sales the US and has for a while like decades.

It’s just not called ranch in the EU by basically any company I can find that makes a buttermilk dressing.

The term ranch is most US based and really just used by hidden valley and their competitors to opt the name brand recognition.

Everyone else just calls it buttermilk dressing.

Torches are lit, pitchforks are at the ready

And I haven’t even explained to them what ranch dressing is yet

Here’s a mind blow ranch dressing AKA buttermilk dressing is sold more frequently in the EU than the US the US is fascination with ranch has declined over the last 30 years massively.

It’s just hidden valley. An American company uses the term ranch so their competitors use the term ranch to compete with them here in the US. Since they’re the biggest one pretty much everywhere else and the entire world, it’s just called buttermilk dressing.

Ngl, I would love a trip to Europe. I’m not the biggest fan of ranch but I’d put ranch on every damn thing they want. Europeans would be side eyeing me like mad. Wouldn’t care. Got free trip.

But do you need extra dressing when the whole kitchen staff have already hocked up their chunkiest loogies to hold up their end of the cultural exchange?

      Try normal buttermilk dressing.

The stuff hidden valley makes is kind of a disgrace. They put so much extra s*** in it. It’s ridiculous.

oh yeah, for sure. If im going to serve it, that’s what I would do. But I don’t like dairy “sauces” or sour cream, mayo, none of that. Dairy dressings gross me out. But I have made it homemade for others in the past.

still gross to me though, nothing will change that lol

I used to like it, but nowadays I much prefer vinaigrettes. Ginger based Asian ones are good too. White sauces generally feel kinda heavy to me.

We make ranch at home to occasionally dip things in, and it’s enjoyable. However, the slimy, sour shit that comes out of a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch is diagusting.

Homemade ranch really is on another level! Cheaper than the bottled stuff too. $1.50 for a small thing of sour cream and another $1 for a package of seasoning. I used to just use whatever was in my spice cabinet, but the package is so convenient if you just want it easy.

Listen, I love ranch, but you’re gonna want to convince the Scots and let them try to convince everyone else. Ranch is amazing on fried food, and by fuck does Scotland fry food.

I’ve done that. You just tell them it’s buttermilk and they f*** with it hard. You just tell him it’s ranch after the fact and they get really pissed at you.

But they won’t stop eating it. I’ve done it twice.

Seriously, people keep thinking that all buttermilk dressing just tastes like hidden valley ranch. When really it’s just hidden valley ranch is the disgusting outlier why everyone else’s ranch is just normal buttermilk dressing and it’s delicious.

It’s just buttermilk with some herbs. It mostly tastes like buttermilk.

So like a creamy butter sauce.

Hidden valley adds so much extra s*** that it’s undetectable underneath it all, which is a big reason why people tend to say they don’t like ranch. They specifically don’t like hidden valley buttermilk dressing, but normal ass ranch dressing is typically fine.
