minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up11·edit-226 days agoi’ve only just recovered from dinner with MIL and BIL the other night MIL was grumbling about dinner, I asked if it was too hot, she said yes, it hurt her I said i added no spice at all . she said nothing then she ate dessert and said it made her feel better from the terrible stomach ache dinner gave her…lol next week she’ll order a hot curry from a restaurant …lol BIL kept on licking his knife, even after I glared at him since he insists on eating like a 1 year old, a 2 year knows better, if there is a next time I will chop his food before hand and give him no knife the conversation was just as riveting and social
minus-squarejust_kitten@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up9·26 days agoIf mushrooms are on the menu next time they visit I wouldn’t blame you at all if you know what I mean.
minus-squareSpinMeAround@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up8·26 days agoLemme guess, nothing is good enough for MIL? They sound thrilling to be around.
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up7·26 days agoShe has her own definition of good. Good is the opportunity to win over someone.
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up7·26 days agoNothing like repeated backhanded comments. Must be so infuriating dealing with that. Hope you get to treat yourself with some self care for awhile.
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up4·26 days agoshe was really annoyed I packed the left overs up and put them in the fridge …lol
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up3·26 days agoHaha you really can’t win with her can you? It’s clear nothing you do will make her happy.
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up5arrow-down1·26 days agoI think dying might please her for a while. 🤣 Until she realises she won’t have such a free hand to bad mouth me , that people will be offended and will remember the nice things I have done.
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up3·26 days agoShe’d still complain about the funeral casket and come back to haunt you about it, you know it!
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up3·26 days agoI meant me dying. …lol She would like that.
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up2·26 days agoOppsies! Well…she’d complain about your casket then!
minus-squareanotherspringchicken@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up7·26 days agoThat sounds very stressful. I vote for you cooking no more meals for these people. If they want to see you, arrange to go out to a restaurant instead
minus-squareLowExperience2368@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up5·26 days agoDoes your husband stick up for you, or is he at least on your side here?
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up4·26 days agoNot once. In fact he will often side with others, might join in attacks and might keep attacking when they are gone.
minus-squaremelbaboutown@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up6·26 days agoWhat an a-hole :( I think he should cook the dinners himself or take his relatives to a restaurant if that’s how he’s going to act. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that.
minus-squareLowExperience2368@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up6·edit-226 days agoNot sticking up for you, that’s disappointing. Go over to your her house and complain about her cooking. Does she cook for you at all?
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up4·26 days agoshe has never cooked for us anything more than a sandwich
minus-squareLowExperience2368@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up2·26 days agomaybe she’s just jealous that she can’t cook like you and she’s taking out her insecurity by belittling your cooking. But that’s just me speculating.
minus-squareSeagoon_@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up2·26 days agothere was that one time she cooked one of those egg and flour bakes
minus-squareCatfish@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up5·26 days agoBoo! Mushroom dinner would be too on trend…
minus-squareStudSpud The Starchy@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·26 days agoHe sounds like a piece of shit 🤷🏼♀️
minus-squaremelbaboutown@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up5·26 days agoHeheh… next time serve completely bland unseasoned food, not even added salt. (Condiments and salt on the table, she would just have to openly reach for them.) Then smile sweetly and ask about her tummy.
