Someone once told me to have the confidence of a man when applying for jobs. It’s debatable how much confidence a man actually has in this scenario, but after a long day of feeling powerless when people steal, I have started applying for some jobs. Retail is great for penalty rates on the weekend, plus I do like the team I’m in and sometimes the customers, but it does feel a bit like a hot-and-cold relationship at times.

The reason for that saying is there has been research that men will apply for a job if they think they meet about 40% of a job description, whereas a woman will usually only apply for a job if they’re confident they can do 100% of the tasks listed.

And from my experience there are times when the only way to get anywhere in the job market is quantity over quality. So at times I’ll just put in for things because job titles match or it feels like something I can do based on vibes. Don’t be afraid to just put in for something, even if you feel like it’s a stretch. Jobs take more from us than we ever give them so fuck’em

The tab key on my keyboard has started sticking for no obvious reason. All of my workflows that involved multiple tab presses have been completely messed up.

It was kinda slim pickings at the farmers market today but I did pick up some yummy greens. And I got a Kenyan BBQ seasoning that is currently cooking on some chicken. Oh and randomly picked up some rakia. So a strange haul but good.

    Blurggg.

Had a chat w/ bro last night. Dude is flat out gunning for ol’ girls’ coin.

Bit of history, back in the day daughters were often left out of wills and the boys got everything. O’l girl was left out and her brothers got everything. Her mum though (my grandmother) left her (and ony her) everything of hers including the proceeds from the sale of her house because the same shit probably happened to her (back in the day before property shit so hardly enough these days for a deposit lol). But it’s hers.

Anyway ol’ boy transferred that coin (with her permission) into something joint that actually gets interest which is fine. Now bro is demanding a slice of it. Now the ol’ boy would have to agree (which he won’t).

    I can’t believe this cunt.

Been thinking about this all morning. At a loss on what to do. Something tells me to stay out. But at the same time ol’ girl might feel like she has no agency… it’s her coin after all.

Just feels like sharks circling the pool.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I went through something very similar.

Best you can do is speak to the old man and give him a heads up so he’s not caught off guard maybe.

This might be opinionated but… I don’t know if he deserves it. At all.

I don’t hear about him coming over cooking, making meal plans, liasing with doctors and dietitians, nudging her to eat… or even really being there.

Yeah… at least you know you’re not behaving like him.

Him thinking of her money at this point in time is really cold. He should be thinking about her.

being honest doesn’t mean you have to be a push over and let dishonesty win

You know what bro is like and what he is doing or attempting to do

so preempt him , build up your own team too

Shark rich environment happening here, with a lot of quicksand too. However, if ol’ girl still has sufficient marbles, there’s still time to get everything sorted out properly so no last minute changes can fuck over what she wants. There are lawyers who can set everything up so her wishes are respected. Wills, powers of attorney (medical and otherwise). May need consent from ol’ boy, but I don’t that’s going to be the major issue here. Unless ol’ boy drops dead or gets run over by a bus. Yes there’s a cost but it’s a one time only with a bit of luck. DM me if you want a contact.

That’s horrible and insanely entitled. Your poor mum, having to put up with dealing with that with everything else she’s going through. Maybe she could use ‘might need it for aged care’ as a line to put him off (even if she doesn’t need it for that). And aged care deposits do cost a bomb.

Unraveled the unfinished string bag because it felt like the yarn would do more good as a crocheted blanket. Fighting with dang twisting stitches. Why are hobbies not fun 😑

Heard a little sneeze outside and it’s the black cat in my yard hooking into Melbcat’s potted cat grass! (I rotate multiple pots between indoor and outdoor to allow sun and rain while regrowing from being eaten.)

Thankfully she hasn’t seen him to get distressed about him being in her territory. She’s tucked under the blanket. But I’m a little bit worried about traces of his saliva on her grass.

She gets vaccinated but at her age her immune system is vulnerable and the antibiotics she’s on have the risk to make her further immunocompromised. He runs around day and night with no collar on so I’m going to assume no shots. He also hunts.

Alright getting rid of the iPhone later today and grabbing a Samsung.

    Never again lol

Edit: cafe gave me a normal coffee instead of decaf. Only had a few sips but it fucked me up. I’m done with coffee in general. Fuck it.

Got the $50 tucker fucker from BigW. Heated up last night’s apricot-tofu and it worked a treat. It’s way smaller than my giant dead Smeg so that’s a bonus too.

I think a bogan slapper at the shopping centre took minor issue with the gay flag sewn on my jacket. Honey you never had a chance. Last week (while wearing the jacket) I bumped into a particularity attractive girl on the tram on the way to the show and when I apologised, she grabbed my forearm and patted it saying everything was okay. As much as I’m glad to represent a safe space for my homies the flag represents I feel I’m stealing a bit of homo-valor in that all these people are being a bit nicer to me for supporting the rainbow flag people. And the people it repels, I want to repel, so it’s a bonus on the far side too.
