Unfortunately the cat didn’t make it. The damage was too severe. The vet at the hospital said it was more humane to let go.

I did the best I could.

Mate you did the right thing. It hurts but it’s for the best. Good on you for taking care of the poor creature.

Horrible decision, but I think you did the right thing. Think of how the poor kitten must have felt - a serious injury AND getting used to living in a human world AND being separated from mum and the other kittens. Would have been so stressed out. It hurts I know, but with animals, I reckon quality of life is the deciding factor.

Agreed. The vet was almost sure that they wouldn’t have been able to survive even with the best care.

Im definitely upset, but I did the best I could in this instance and in general. They haven’t gone hungry for almost 18 months. I’ve had to accept there are limits to what I can do apart from making sure they’re fed and have access to clean water.

All the rescues are full and have been full this whole time.

        It still fucking sucks.

      🫂

You did the best thing you could for the poor cat, it’s lucky it had you looking out for it and didn’t continue to suffer.

I’m so sorry to hear that. A terrible end to a fucked up week. You’ve done such a great job looking after those strays.

I’m so sorry. You did the best you could for them and ensured they didn’t suffer. They were very lucky you got them to the vet and chose what was best for them.
