I think Dezi Freemen won’t be found. It’s been too long. He’s either dead, or managed to escape out of the area and could be anywhere in Australia by now. I really hope they catch the lunatic, but at some point they’ll have to decide to stop searching.

Sorted Boyo’s bday prezzie in a weird way. One of the neighbours isn’t good at closing blinds, he pointed out a Thing they have he wanted. Um, yeah…

I got a bit stuck in the game I’ve been playing (Horizon Zero Dawn) so I looked up some hints today for how to move forward. Now I want to try them out, but I need to get up at 4:30 to go to work tomorrow so I really can’t. 🙁

My quiet little back of the estate house which never gets visits has had 2 door knocks today. One from JoHos, one from what looks like a random guy. That feels a little disconcerting.

Went out for dins last night w/ SIL’s fam who came over from indo to see the new bub addition.

Thankfully they’re all easy going and up for a laugh.

Always find it interesting when dry humour goes down well across cultures. The language barrier is there but the concepts get over the line.

But it was nice to see the two sides of fams get along. Only really met them twice but so far so good. Bro and SIL are still insufferable shits but we’re getting there.

Made an early start on my mountain of work as I woke up earlier than usual (probably due to stress about said mountain of work) and couldn’t get back to sleep. I’m already so tired ready to call it a day. Think a second coffee is in order. Stress-impacted sleep is the worst.

Books are always needed. It doesn’t matter how many you have. What if you’re not in the mood for the ones you have? What if you don’t quite have the information you’re looking for? Need to cross reference? What if they’re not the right height for propping up something?? Yes, I will use any excuse.

What if they are a limited print and I will never see another copy?

I will never have this serendipity again of seeing this book and book topic and if I don’t buy it I will probably forget it exists.

These are actually valid reasons, in fact they are all valid reasons. 😺

I didn’t find any books on aquaria but I did find a book on Australiana.

I do not understand petrol in Ballarat. In Melbourne there was always a price cycle where the price would suddenly jump up by 40-60 cents and then slowly drop down over about a month. The petrol station I go to here has not changed its price at all since I moved here. There is no price cycle to keep an eye on, no trying to judge the best time to fill up and having to spend a small fortune if you misjudge. I just fill up with petrol when I need petrol. It is really weird, in a good way.

You need to check out Bacchus Marsh because there’s independents there that keep the prices low.

      I usually pay around $1.70.

That’s what this one is. It’s just weird that it doesn’t change at all. Not having to worry about a sudden jump to $2.20 at the wrong time is very nice.
