People keep giving me lemon curd. Help.

We have a massive, decades-old lemon tree so guests and family keep asking “can i take some lemons?” And i am "please god take some lemons they are everywhere and the ones i miss that drop make the yard smell like pine o cleen as they rot yes please take the fucking lemons here’s a large bag fill it, fill it to the brim for christ’s sake And lo, they taketh of the lemon.

And then. Aaaaaand then. They feel bad about rescuing us from lemons and GIVE US FUCKING LEMON CURD IN RETURN. Always lemon curd. No tarts no cheesecake, no marmalades, no limoncello, no lemonade, no lemon cakes, no lemongeddon solo derivatives no, just lemon curd. Curd upon curd upon curd. My life is becoming a hell of small repurposed cream cheese jars.

Came home from work sick - chills, fever and shaking in every joint. If not better by this arvo, will contact nurse on call.

Courtesy of nurse on call, the nice paramedic has just been and filled me full of antivirals. Back to bed until they kick in.

My irritating next door neighbour is having visitors over tomorrow during the day.

Guess who’s going to be gardening and using each and every power tool available.

    This guy right here.

I actually have to do gardening, but now I have a reason to be very thorough and meticulous.

Early night to night. Good night everyone, sweet dreams 😘

Tomorrow I’ll finish some garden work, go for a walk , do some stuff around the house and listen to some vinyls I bought at the opshop today . Just a relaxing day.

Good morning all. I have another day in Melbourne today, followed by lasagne with my mother. May the traffic gods smile upon me and the sun not shine too brightly into my eyes as I head directly towards the searing fireball of morning.

Edit: the traffic gods smiled, I arrived quite early. And the searing fireball was tempered by some low lying clouds and so I arrived with my eyeballs intact and fully funcitional as functional as they normally are.

Interesting work week. My manager is moving to a new department - and our whole team is actually devastated because she’s a legend. Had a few very good client interactions. One was a vulnerable person, homeless, and a bit abusive - his experience thus far with our company for what he was trying to do left a lot to be desired to be fair. He spoke with me and I decided I would not end the call until I’d resolved his issue. Ended up having to call him back 7 times to get the job done, but we did it, and he was very thankful in the end. My efforts did not go unrecognized internally either and I got a few shout outs. Felt good!

so many hugs and kudos for caring

it must be incredibly hard to be homeless, that any homeless person has patience or has any manners at all is amazing

( saw a homeless man today in pjs at the train station, dragging his suitcase. He has no bedroom, no privacy, no personal space, all the places we use when we self care. They lose so much that we take for granted 😔.

One time I saw a group of homeless reminiscing about home cooking. Just random things we don’t think twice about 😔 )

On the otherside, reminiscing about how everybody in a squat would turn up with a handful of something and a a pot of pretty good soup would emerge.

I wish I could be chill like that. I’ve had mixed experiences with people in squats.

I managed to help one girl in a bad situation, others kept to themselves and I covertly dropped a few things off without interacting or narcing (vegetable seeds and cat food).

          Others were bad news though

Finding chill seems to help. Other stories are about belting yourself onto rafters to sleep. In somewhere many here may well have had coffee

Family gathering on Sunday for the October/November/December birthdays, including my dad.

As a present to them, I’ll be baking pretzels :3

Gathering ingredients tomorrow and prepping dough, shaping, and then bake Sunday morning before making the trek to Doreen.

I hear cousin is making tiramisu, and uncle (host) is doing something in the smoker or bbq (I’m hoping smoker).

    Should be fun!

    Edit:

    I am being O B S E R V E D

Oh yeah in conscious of that! I’m lucky in that he has never been inclined to jump on the benches, even when I was baking every few days during COVID lockdowns. He just never cared to. Jumps on all the other tables, never the benches 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wicked For Good has been seen! The costume department absolutely knocked it out of the park, so many beautiful pieces. I wore sparkly green eyeshadow and sparkly shoes, love me a theme.

Mickey is so funny. He asks to be picked up, so I do, but sometimes I have to put him down quicker than he prefers (water boiling, toilet, usual home stuff).

When that happens, he’ll rush back over to my legs and bite my calves or bat at my ankles. No real damage or pain to me, but let’s him display his displeasure at the cuddles ending sooner than he’d prefer 😂

@CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone’s card from yesterday reminded me of this movie I watched a while ago. Burning Hell is one of those so bad it’s good movies where a pentacostal preacher is telling you how bad hell is:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8Pvkl0d_Z0&pp=ygUSYnVybmluZyBoZWxsIG1vdmll

Be warned if you watch this you’ll never be able to get the way he says ‘hell’ out of your head.

I watched this and the documentary Jesus Camp around the same time and I figured something out about these religions, especially in the States; they spend all this time telling you how bad hell is and to not be bad, but never tell you what a good person does. This movie is an entire hour about how bad hell is, with no explainer on how to be a good person or how to get into heaven. Imagine living your entire life only being told what not to do with no direction on what you should do. I think things over there start to make sense by seeing this as the mentality people were brought up with and how they impose their will on others.

Booked flights to Sydney - been invited to a client Christmas event which I can use as an excuse to claim flights / accom on the business, and also using the trip as my “work” Christmas party. I’ve been feeling so wound up and stressed lately, looking forward to a couple of nights away.
