There’s a couple of projects happening near my train station so the carparks are filled with trades. Had to park a bit further than usual and missed my regular train by like a minute.

I don’t know these new train people. They’re not my regulars!!!

Spent the entire ride judging them so hard.

    6:30 Train people for ever!!!

6:37 Train people might as well be sewer mutants!

I had a dream that I was in a car and we were all randomly stressed and then a little tuxedo kitten literally fell from the sky through the window on my lap. I think someone somewhere was sending me a hug.

I’ve been craving a change for like a month now. New job, new phone, new bed new SOMETHING. Even just rearranging a room might be nice. i haven’t done it yet cause I’m trying to understand the impulse.

Am listening to Mushroom Case daily.

Anyone got an equivalent podcast for the Diddy trial? Stuck at home for a while, need trashy entertainment…

      The Trial of Diddy perhaps?

Haven’t listened to it, but it came up on the search 😁

The Case Against podcasts might be good yoo

One of the boys had a fever and had to be picked up from childcare early on Monday. This resulted in the week up until now just being a fog of Trying To Get Things Done. Things are somewhat back to normal so we’ll see how things play out.

I got Bazzite working on the old work laptop. Silly me didn’t disable Secure Boot. It loads straight into Steam Big Picture on startup, so I wouldn’t use this version as my daily driver, but it would be great for handhelds and loungeroom PCs.

Also, Sleep Token have dropped a new album. I know some people on here dig them. I’m listening to it now.

Belated thanks to our local Witch for the motivation brew. It’s taken a while to kick in for me as it usually is, but here I am finally sat in the uni library with a blank Word document open! And a tab open to ChatGPT where I’m about to explain what my project is about and to please help break me out of my stupid block to just start writing.

Edit: who knew that just having ChatGPT just open and trying to draft up a question on how to structure one section would do the job - ended up smashing out dot points for the intro and aims in one hour. Now onto the method section (should be easiest to fill out) and then sketching out the results section to discuss with supervisor tomorrow.

Oh that’s awesome! It’s so painful when you just can’t concentrate on THE THING. Once you find that trick that lets you lock in and focus its all go. Hope its a downhill run now

Gosh yes that wall of inertia might as well be the entire Himalayan range for how seemingly endless and insurmountable it is. As always, time pressure (meeting with supervisor tomorrow) really, really helps…

I’ve also had a second coffee today which is 99% of the time a bad idea but it’s helped me push on - I’ve accepted I will be periodically frying my nervous system for the next several weeks to get this goddamn thing finished.

At least I’ve picked up a whole lot of ready to eat food today so I can not think about cooking for a while! I do need to cook this salmon I bought on Sat evening though…

Missing ballot papers found at election workers home

what if your passion could become your career?

Love it when ads line up with content like that 😂

I was at a PD presentation today and then later on had a look at the Other Place (using my phone), and up popped an ad for the very specific thing the PD was about.

I didn’t google anything related to the topic, and only used my phone to check messages a couple of times.

That was a little too much of a coincidence. Bloody technology, snooping on me. Very creepy indeed.

They say the apps don’t need to use your microphone to listen in and present you ads but this sort of thing happens far too often.

One time my girlfriend showed me something on her phone and I started getting ads on mine. Either they’re listening or they’re scanning faces and delivering ads to known friends

Finally figured out why I don’t feel like I fit in, in the role.

I’m the only guy here who does not wear RM Williams boots.

    I swear it’s like a uniform.

Boots must really help when trying to herd emails or if an errant teams message hopped a fence.

Anyone want a gratitude thread? I feel like I’ve been looking at life through a negative lens lately, which doesn’t really help.

So I’m going to start this thread. I am grateful for the beautiful autumn leaves I saw on my walk today. I will show photos next time, as the ones I took today made my location identifiable to any georainbolts out there.

I’m grateful that I found a competent therapist this year who could tell me I probably have autism and point in me in the right direction for the first time in my life.

I’ve wanted to mention I’m grateful for the community. Everyone’s so great on here, I’ve been able to ask questions, get insights from people, and just keep up with what others have been getting up to. It’s been nice

I recently had some surgery (I’m ok, nothing life threatening), and I am very grateful and appreciative of the lovely nurses who looked after me. They were wonderfully kind and skilled, eased my anxieties and made me comfortable. A very big grateful shout out for all the amazing nurses out there, they make such a difference when you’re feeling vulnerable.

I am grateful for frozen veggies, letting me get some easy nutrition in when I can’t be bothered.

I’m also grateful for video calls. I have a meeting tonight for a volunteer gig and once I would’ve had to drive a fair distance and then probably freeze in a cold hall to take part. Instead I can participate at home in my slippers with the heater going.

I’m all set up for getting in the house to be on hard mode again tonight - a few pieces of furniture, a floor lamp and a dog door insert are all waiting for me. I think it will mostly need to be carried straight back out the van so I can take it up to Ballarat, I don’t really have room in the house.
