30C outside, 24C in the shade, perfectly cool but not cold breeze, just the sound of leaves rustling, and I have the place to myself for 1 hour while everyone goes out for an appointment. A moment of bliss… There are times where I’ve started missing the familiarity of Melbourne but in this moment I am definitely not missing it

I was just having a coffee and I looked up and I saw a mouse running out of the kitchen. it ran straight towards my dog, over his paws and around him and under the couch. He looked at me like what the hell did you see that ? Useless dog sigh

Everyone is bringing their kids into the office today. Two people have already swung by with their kids and mine are coming this afternoon. The women in the office are getting spoiled

My favourite part of the work day is when my Grade 6er arrives at my work after school.

It’s a little different when it’s your own kid. A guy’s 3 year old daughter comes into the office here and all the women rush from their desks to form a circle around her.

Regretting the accidental nap when I got home

Edit: I am also hating how Apple Music works now. Thought I’d try to buy some of the music I like to rely less on YouBoob but it’s so focused on shoving a subscription service down your throat that you have to close that signup window after trying to do anything. And it makes you jump through hoops just to access being able to listen to a song version before you buy.

    Capitalism is truly ruining everything.

I wish cds were better in op shops and the ones on eBay were less expensive. I wish I could read sheet music and wasn’t surrounded by people so I could just damn well sing it myself

I need to rehome some hobby items, and the most interested person is somebody I loath. Hundreds of hours in these things so yeah it does matter. Ugh.

Yummo! What’s your go-to burrito of choice?

Some of the office peeps and I went out to out local Malaysian place, always an excellent feed. Now I’m trying to stay awake at my desk. Today is shaping up to be an excellent food day!

I went chipotle chicken today. Normally, from this place, I favour their barbacoa.

I don’t get work burrito very often. Normally my work lunch of choice is crispy pork or crispy eggplant banh mi from the excellent banh mi joint, but the line there was mental

I have this stupid notion that only warm drinks provide energy/stimulation.

There is zero facts to support it, but that’s what I choose to abide by.

Used to work with a chap (very white aussie). He’d always drink hot water and take Chinese herbal meds for everything.

Never met a person who would get sick more than him.

Oh yeah. He used have a hacking cough and would take some weird shit for it. He’d be 100% certain that the medicine helped to cure the cough after like 4 weeks.

              4 weeks!!!

Depends on the weather. If it’s hot there is a temp threshold the drink must be below, in all other conditions hot drinks are preferable

At first it wasn’t great because I was having heart palpitations and crying spells. I lowered my dose to a quarter of a tablet and I don’t think it did much except increase my heart rate. I would go for a light walk and my HR would be around 140-150. My sleep has also been terrible but I think that’s because I’ve been waking up early and finding it hard to sleep at night at a decent time.

I will be upping my dose today, potentially of the clonidine too, because that’s not doing anything either. Having a call with the psychiatrist on Tuesday and he might prescribe me non-stimulants, which are exorbitantly priced. I’ve wasted so much money on meds over the past few years that haven’t done anything or made the situation worse, so hopefully we’ll get to a good point. I’m thinking of trying skills over pills (e.g. time and stress management, using discipline over motivation).

I have a fear of failure, to the point where I enter a freeze response, and end up failing. I think that’s the cause of my problems, and if I challenge the excuses that my brain makes and power through, I should be fine.

I understand that last paragraph really well.

The non stimulant is probably called Zyban. And yeah it’s around 150 a month.

Sorry you’ve had such a hard time with it. Tbh I did as well for about a month. It’s hard to put your life on hold for that long experimenting with dosage.

Fingers crossed it works out with the psych :)

Going to bed early. Today was a write off due to sick. I don’t know what obnoxious bug this is but everything aches. This virus can get in the bin. I have a few events on this weekend but now looking like I’ll have to not go. Sigh.

Either a bad flu or covid.

Hope you get plenty of rest and feel better soon. A real shame to miss out on this weekend.
