I’ve decided to buy a phone tripod and make lame social media videos playing covers.

Will it be a waste of time? Absolutely.

Will it be fun? Depends if Gibson makes a star appearance lol

How bizarre. I slept overnight for a few hours, and then spent the time from 7am to 5pm mostly asleep. I really hope it isn’t COVID and it’s just today I’ll be like this.

“Panel needs replacing on a car? Going through insurance will run it at $2200. Skipping all the paperwork going straight through me will be $1100. However, if you want it done on the weekend, cash in hand, let’s make it $800.”

Nah, had to move that car on a year ago. It was beautiful, fun and entirely impractical. I’ve now got a little zippy hatch. Compromised on the convertible by getting a sunroof, lol.

Cash economy is strong. I’m moderately sure my first few employers were paying me cash but not paying taxes/super etc. I was a clueless teenager getting cash envelopes and didn’t know better. I’m probably owed a couple hundred dollars in super from each of them.

I would love for this to happen honestly. I was quoted 2.5k to replace a panel a few years ago. Haven’t done it because the car is probably worth 5k and it’s still functioning okay ish.

I have whipped and snipped some edges and the tallest clumps of grass in the backyard. Now my arms are feeling a bit wobbly. Not sure if I’ll do the mowing today or tomorrow. I should do a bit more cardboard/mulch application and start on planting vegie seeds, but my motivation is very low today.

I keep going out and looking at the area I’m gonna pave, checking all the supplies are ready to go and have to keep reminding myself that I can’t start it now it’s the middle of a bloody work day

I’ve missed having a modded console to mess around with.

I just love having complete control over a piece of hardware. If it’s yours you should be able to load whatever you like onto it.

I’ve liked that with the handheld I got. I changed the OS and it has opened up so much more capability from the same hardware.

I think that’s been the appeal of the Steamdeck for people as well. It’s just a linux computer in a handheld design so you can put whatever you want on there. There are launchers for GOG and Epic games, and all these apps for emulation. Valve seems to understand people who play games buy games, so you just need to give them the best device for doing so.

Exactly. It’s that freedom to do as you please.

At the moment I’m using my ps5 controller to play pc games streamed via moonlight to the switch.

It can do so much! Which is why I got sick of the iPhone. Great hardware, locked down insanely tightly. And no jailbreak.

Nintendo makes good hardware since they’ve been doing it for so long. A jailbroken 3DS is meant to be really good. And I saw a video that even though people made fun of the Wii for being underpowered, the hardware was really well put together. It seems like the biggest bottleneck is the software and Nintendo keeping everything locked down

I think back to a year ago when I was dealing with the old job. I wanted to try get into recording again around the grand final long weekend but realised I had to make moves to try get out of there. Things have been good with the current job and I’m talking some days off around this public holiday without any plans so I might try get into things again

Too nice a day to do admin and emails inside so grabbed the laptop and relocated to the park. I cannot describe how good a decision that was for my little burner out brain. 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

I’ve had a lovely breakfast - my favourite local cafe does not skimp on the number of 🍄‍🟫 in their omelettes! - taken my library books back and had my hair cut. All to the good

Work from home tomorrow then Friday and Monday off. There’s something going on at work where they’ll pay for us to go to the museum so I think I’ll take them up on that for Sunday

Started getting a sore throat yesterday but I thought it was because I didn’t drink much water. Boy was I wrong. Woke up with a migraine, fever, chills, bodily pains and of course, a way worse fucking sore throat. Hopefully I can recover faster than I did when I was sick two months ago because I have to do a presentation in five days.
