I tried to sleep through the night the best I could, but now have the dry horrors. Sipping slowly.

Melbcat has breakfasted and requires cuddles. I’m going to try and get her to finish the last little skerrick and then apply her nose cream.

Looking at an old picture I did and wondering why I’m so much better at drawing objects than people.

Edit: I mean to say it’s that unpleasant anxious dry throat stage of dehydration that makes you feel terrible. I’m not experiencing delirium tremens

I wondered the same about myself with drawing, my people always seem 2D. I think, for me anyway, it’s because objects are kind of static whereas people have this sort of life essence that’s hard to capture.

I took a big bag of stuff to the opshop. 👍 I have sorted it all out now, only 2 bags to take now.

and I came home with a set of 3 small nicely framed prints of seascapes. 👍 I did an image search and they are by Konstantin Volantis, the Turner of Greece and painted Circa 1870s . They are lovely and tell a story. One is of traditional boat maintenance . Another is fishermen in a squall, the last is of the market in a small fishing village, probably the village he grew up in. I’m imagining these pictures hanging up in the home of Greek immigrants ( who I assume came in the 50s or 60s, like my parents came from Europe too ) and for them they would have evoked memories of Greek places and pride in modern artistic heritage. I will love them too. :)

Installed Bazzite cos F win11. Pretty easy.

Steam: Helldivers2, Overwatch2, Baulders Gate3, Hollow knight, master of magic, lego LOTR all work without any issues tweaks, maybe need some performance tweaks.

Also Borderlands 3 (on Epic) installed via Linux’s Heroic Games launcher (epic/gog/amazon front end), zero weird linux backend research to work. Clicked install, clicked run, ran.

There’s a bunch of design choices I don’t like about the Bazzite GUI, but it’s free and runs games.

I showed the boys the 2015 Jurassic World yesterday. I see it as more of an action movie than a horror movie but it has that horror movie DNA because everyone in the movie is an idiot and the whole thing could have been avoided if there weren’t some glaring plot holes and people thought about things for a second

The stupid is strong with that movie for sure. I watched it last year with my tween/young teen kids and it was cringe/comedy 😆

We went to the cafe Three Bags Full in Abbotsford after the museum and it was the perfect way to cap off the day because they give out little dinosaur figures with their babycinos. I didn’t even know they did that, we just went there because the Star Wars cafe was full

Three Bags Full has been excellent for years. I used to live in the area, and it’s been consistent for about a decade

I lived there around when it opened and it’s good to see most of the cafes in the area have stuck around.

You didn’t miss much with the star wars cafe. It was a fairly underwhelming $ grab. Not a bad coffee. Nice service but really really average food.

I’ll go if things line up but as you said I’m not going to go out of my way for it. The boys haven’t even properly watched Star Wars to appreciate it yet

What in the weather is this? Half the people at work were in t-shirts, half in jumpers. I am currently team t-shirt, even as someone who gets cold easily. My dad is in fleece jacket with the heater on. I hope he doesn’t have the flu too, but I have been staying in my room.

So, not really any music recording done but I faffed around with some stuff I’ve been meaning to do like figuring out how to make my Circuit Tracks and Rhythm talk to each other. There’s a bunch of music stuff I’ve been meaning to set up or learn so maybe I do that in the evenings after the kids go down instead of just playing games. If I don’t end up recording anything, I’ll be the most set up to record things when I’m readdy.
