Threw yoghurt all over the kitchen this morning, felt like a sign to go back to bed. Unfortunately I had to collect a colleague on the way to work, called him to let him know I’d be late with a big ol’ glob of yoghurt on my foot.

I think we may have discussed this before but what is the story behind your username?

Mine was from the other place.

I really want to know what a Seagoon is.

Same here, I wish I felt like this every day. The positive difference in my mood is crazy. Sadly I get more bad than good sleep these days…

I don’t want to be one of those people but do you know why you could be experiencing poor sleep?

The mood difference is indeed crazy. Yesterday I balled my eyes out and today I’m fine.

Stress in general - business stress, personal stress, also bad bedtime routine. It all adds up. Tried melatonin and it made me feel like crap during the day, stopped that. Yesterday I made a few changes and noticed a difference, need to keep the momentum going.

I had a drink last night which meant better sleep but that’s not a lifestyle choice I’m looking to make as a regular thing. It is nice to have had maybe five hours though after what feels like a month of 2-3 per night.

    A $32 t-shirt in 2011 is now $52, does that seem reasonable? I don’t think I’ve got $50 t-shirts in the budget.

Had a high pain and anxiety day and ended up napping 🫩 It just wasn’t a good one. Gonna load up on ibuprofen and rest some more.

      I think I’m a lot like you, I don’t work 9-5 at a job , I work at home 7 days a week, that means I don’t get sick days

I have things to do, like look after cats and household chores, so when I get sick I feel guilty and like a failure if I have to rest or take time off

but everyone gets a few weeks off a year for sick days, no guilt,

and you shouldn’t feel bad about it either, it’s not a failing to need a day off

so many hugs, take care and rest up

Yeah, I think I just had to take this day off and hope for a better one tomorrow.

Melbcat got her medication and had food and water which is the most important thing. (She also came in to nap a bit with me and got cuddles and treats)

Some of these winter Olympic sports are so dangerous - flipping and spinning in the air, riding rails with ski’s, flying down the mountain, the athletes have no fear. It looks so cool but wow one wrong move and ouch.

Even figure skating - the competitors have knife blades bolted onto their shoes. And the ice is hard. I broke my coccyx falling over on an ice rink as a child. And I’ve seen severed fingers when someone went out of control and crashed into someone else and ran over an outspread hand. Not deliberate, just an unfortunate accident …

I have seared into my memory of the skier who got caught on the fence,

      nsfw

split his groin open, and bled out on the snow

It was grotesque, it’s so fucking dangerous.

it’s chaos here with the Seagoon’s setting up house, it’s not just moving, they came here from overseas with just suitcases and they have to buy so much, we’re all helping out as much as we can

so I think I’ll wait until next week to get this house here in order and I will not worry about it 👍Just doing the necessary like looking after cats

I can understand why you’d be worried but you’ve been genuinely sick. They’ll understand if they’re a good place to work

We’ll see man. I haven’t been cc’d on anything from yesterday so that’s a big concern.

And they’ve asked for my super details to pay for January because they’re incorrect.

I’ve been there since November. If there was an issue they’d have asked by now.

There’s rules about super being paid every three months so they might’ve just realised. It’s looking at getting changed so that super needs to be paid with pay but these things don’t happen overnight.

nah, workplaces previously paid super on stupid fucking rotation like every four months. So they wouldn’t have noticed earlier.

The law has changed, but I believe that kicked in this year.

Payday super kicks in 1 July, obligation is currently the same: for time worked in Jan, Feb, and March, contributions must be made before 28 April, for April May June, prior to 28 July, and the other two quarters of the year are also broken up like that

It sounds like you’ve been making great progress there and any business that’s worth having you should allow for sickness.

And if they don’t… good to be out before investing too much time and effort.
