Totally. I’ve been very professional and am preparing my handover notes over the coming weeks.

This whole thing is going to fuck over my favourite people at this place, so want to make it as easy as possible.

I’m genuinely going to miss them, and hope to maintain contact with a couple of them. The representative of one of the clients I work with wants to go and get some drinks sometime before I leave. I thought that was pretty cool!

they actually want you to see out your notice?! Really?! I’d be politely pointing out that if a customer asks why your departing you wouldn’t be comfortable lying. That should solve that problem fairly quickly!

He’s asking me in my fucking resignation meeting about it 😂

And you’re right. That’s a good point. I’ll bring it up in the stand up tomorrow morning.

One thing I’ve learned is that you can go for two hours then bail. You don’t have to be the last to leave, you can even be the first. I’m the oldest and brokest of my cousins.

        I agree.

        spoiler

It’s really tough going through all the emotions and pain of getting out of bad relationship dynamics. I look at my sibs and some are happy with the way thing are, they are the abusers, and others are miserable. They are the victims. But none seem to make efforts to question or change . They seem more stable but stable as what?

A lot of could just be…well how do you approach a subject like that? I don’ t mean just checking in saying “howya doing?” but even acknowledging the depth and breadth of something like that is just something a lot of people just can’t fucking handle or even begin to handle, so they get weird about it and decide pretending after the fact is a tactic. Which doesn’t fucking help, but at the same time, aggravatingly, you can’t fault them for not being able to handle it.

You have no idea how much that shit sets you back in life. While other kids are building skills and confidence and networking you’re stuck in survival mode and start out at a massive disadvantage.

Look at it like this. If you’re not able to thrive to that level yet and unable to provide whatever it is that they want, is it really your fault? What did they give you? It was their job to build you up and since that didn’t happen they don’t reap the fruits.

I think they get what they gave. /shrug

Aldi has a kind of crappy web site. I can’t search their list of grocery products. I made apricot chicken but had to get the apricot nectar and french onion soup mix from Coles. I prefer to avoid colesworth where able.

        Fender Bass VI

6 string “bass” that’s strung with higher strings and used as a guitar. Sounds mean as fuck in drop F or Drop G.

        It’s 800 so it isn’t a million bucks lol

I’ve got some gigs coming up with the new band so would be nice to have this.

Baritone guitars are very nice and a good bit of fun. At first I thought it was odd they weren’t more embraced by the metal community, but I guess that’s because they just went straight to seven strings.

            Exactly right.

Personally I prefer to stay in 6 strings so I don’t have to completely change my picking technique after 20 odd years.

The Bass VI sounds amazing from what I’ve heaed but will Defs be taking the helix with me to test it out.

So this is technically a bass, but it’s being used currently all over the place as a guitar with lighter gauge strings. Because of the build, it’s pretty much perfect for heavy, down tuned music!

This place doesn’t have one, but I reckon I can find one by next week

Oh man that thing looks awesome - good luck with the search! Because you totally deserve it!

My last purchase was a 2011 Les Paul Studio, not the sexiest full-bling LP but every time I pick it up I absolutely love playing it, it’s right for me. And after playing a few newer ones I actually prefer the one I’ve got.

Thanks mate. It’s been a hell of a ride the last few months.

I used to solely play Gibson SG’s but I grabbed an Epiphone LP and it’s incredible. Feels so different. The weight distribution is better as well.

            Do you still play?

A nice SG would be next on my wish-list for sure. You’re right they’re very different to play, my old music teacher had one I used to get to use a little bit 20 years or so ago.

With a 5 year old and a crazy workload, I definitely don’t get to play as much as I used to! Our little bloke is showing an interest in music though, my wife is steering him towards piano, I’m on Team Guitar, but we’re not being pushy about it at all. IF he wants to learn an instrument at all it’s entirely up to him!

Of course, the fact that the guitars and ukulele are now prominently mounted on the wall in the room right next to his bedroom had -nothing- to do with me… ;)

You’re absolutely doing the right thing. I was musical from a young age, but unfortunately that wasn’t really followed up on until I started singing and playing when I was 15. I think just having the stuff around would absolutely bring out that curiosity. And kids love making noise right? lol

Crawling round my engine bay, looks like I fixed the oil leaks like a god dam baller. I mean I tightened the three nuts with oil leaking around them - two in the rocker cover and one in the timing chain cover. But nonetheless oil leak stopped.

Oh man in my youth I owned more than one car where the lack of an oil leak meant it was probably out of oil :D

Pretty bleah fieldwork out west with awful dust, and the woooorst traffic. I think I need to make sure I leave that part of town by 3pm so I’m not stuck tearing my hair out on the M1 (even paying a princely $7+ to go through the tunnel is aggravating)

I feel so mad. I’d treat myself to a pizza but I’ve already had a takeaway spinach roll for breakfast and a servo sanga for lunch. No more reckless spending, it’s pasta with broccoli, celery, peas and vegan chorizo for dinner tonight (easy to make!)

Dishwasher people have contacted some service agent who’s then supposed to get in touch with me in 2-3 days. I don’t know how long I’ll be without a dishwasher for. Still disproportionately frustrated about it.

Grateful at least for chilled coconut water to calm down with…
